DM 500 just flashes "Nabilosat HD" on the screen

Hi, new to this and bought a DB500 on ebay for ny boat.

Just plugged it in and all it will do is flash "Nabilosat HD" on the screen.

Thought I would look at the file system but nothing via the ethernet port.

Only things I can find online are ref to Dream Up, but I tried a copy of that and it says no com port when i run it.

More readng says an null modem rs232 cable but (a) I dont have one and (b) my PC is new and has no RS232 port on it. I would assume there must be a way to talk via ethernet or it would not have a port.

Any guidance apprecaired. Assume I have been done by the seeller at this point!

hi which box do you have is it a 500s or is it a 500hd? and was it bought new?

if its second hand and 500s it sounds as if someone has flashed the wrong image

when these boxs are bricked you have to flash a new image with a null modem thru serial port with dreamup
