have had technomate for 5years now decided to go down the dreambox route cant get dm500 to flash wont connect all goes well till it says ready to connect plug in dreambox do this & nothing happens have tried everything but a Fxxng big hammer which i am contemplating as i type any help would be appreciated

Try different versions of dreamup.

Is it the null modem cable you use?

have used version from here there every bldn where yes null modem cable installed software that cme with it the full monty still no joy

Are you making sure only to power dreambox on after you click connect?

If so sounds to me like a duff dream.

What lights are you getting on dream? And has this ever worked before?

had it a while just decided to try get it working i can watch all the FTA on it want to set it up for CS

what image is on it now?

also is your null modem cable pluged into serial port or is it a usb convert?

its a usb converter its a gemini image

i think thats where your problem is you need to use a serial port on a computer or know how to set up the usb convert the correct way

i tried years ago with converter and had no luck but serial port null modem connects no problems

do you have dreambox control center on your computer?

if yes when you connect it to dreambox go to ftp section on it and click var then ect is there a file in there called CCcam.cfg

You also don't need to flash the box to change the cccam.cfg. As long as you know the password for the box then you can use dreambox control centre to access the files.

Default username : root
Default password: dreambox
