dreambox 500 s clone

hi all just got myself a dreambox 500 s , have been reading forums for about 3 days now on how to get it up and running , still no joy , trying to flash it with dreamup , prepears connection and when i turn on dm 500 s nothing happens also i have yet to seen the led lights come on , im assuming they should come on when i turn power on even if it hasnt been flashed ???? new to this !!!!!

Yes the light should come on when plugged in. Where did you get it from :/
