DM 600 recordings disappeared

Hi all
like I said I have a DM 600 here in Thailand.
I have used it no probs for a couple of years.
Records on timings and playbacks perfectly.

Until yesterday.

No when I go to FILE MODE there is no list as before.
When I try to record something comes up saying HARD DISK FULL REMOVE SOMETHING.....but whilst it's fullish I don't believe it IS full.
Connected to my MAcbook via ethernet cable and IP address but it reflects the screen in that that there are no recordings listed.

What would a clever man do?
(I've tried rebooting)

Important clue to add to the above post please help me solve this one

I looked at the on screen stuff and looked up the HD.
Here's what I got

/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1
Not mounted

It says not mounted.
But it IS telling me what make of HD, it's capacity etc.
What should I glean from this?
