how often do you need to reflash

hi all
new to this as just moved over from old pace 1000b
how often do these 500s need to be reflash
and is the only way to set up channels in to sets without joining to p.c the long way of going thought the lot 1 by 1

On a 500s one single flash wont do everything in one go.. like some other boxes do

The many times you flash depends on how many images you want to try out, each one will need to be flashed over the previous or if your current image goes wierd and needs reflashed.....

changing files and updating other stuff is just a case of either FTPing through ethernet, or in most cases downloading stuff like addons by connecting it to your router and using the remote to download of the images server

You can setup channels lists and stuff from the remote, or use Dreamboxedit or DCC....Ive never tried those, I just use the remote (no cross over cable)

Once you find a Image you like using the only reason to flash again is a new version of that image comes along, other than that its up to you if you wish to Experiment with different vendors software.
