DreamUP Slow Transfer Rate 1KB/S

Hey guys, trying to use DreamUP on my laptop but no serial port... So got from eBay a USB to Serial adaptor, now i know alot of people have issues getting them to connect to the dreambox. But connects first time... my issue is the very slow transfer rate, any ideas?

for a dm500 thats so so slow. It should be max 11 - 13 minutes if the image has all the cams already inside otherwise should be 6 - 7 minutes for a virgin image. 53 minutes is for dm800
