    DM500 Network woes

    Hello guys,

I have a DM500 connected via the ethernet cable to a stand alone wireless adapter. This enables my mobile broadband to pick up my DM500. Via my broadband homepage I can see it connected and assigned IP 192.168.1.104.

My wireless adapter has the LAN light lit and the dreambox has an orange internal lights lit, one intermittently double flashes.

If I connect my laptop to this LAN it works.

    The dreambox has DHCP off
    IP 192.168.1.104
    Netmask 255.255.255.0
    Type LAN
    Nameserver 192.168.1.1
    Gateway 192.168.1.1

I am unable to connect to the dreambox with DreamBoxEdit or Filezilla. When I ping the IP address it returns "Destination Host Unreachable".

I am running image PLI Jade if it makes a difference. It was working intermittently but now not at all.

    Can anyone help?

Yep- DHCP = ON should sort it. But the reason your static settings aren't working is that the Nameserver (DNS) address is wrong. You have it set to the same value as the Gateway (which is your router).

If you're on Vermin, then the DNS would be 194.168.4.100 - but you can also try 8.8.8.8

      Cheers- AL

Apologies for not replying before now. Haven't been able to ever get it working with DHCP on to be honest.

My provider is 3 mobile broadband and it assigns the stand alone wireless adapter an IP address.

When I use cmd with ipconfig /all it displays the DNS as the same as the gateway.

Anything else before I try a new image or buy a new box and start again?
