Jtag Help Dm 500s

Hi

Need some help, Ive read up every thread going but have got stuck.

Been trying to tag since yesterday using the jtagdm500AIO but have run acroos a problem.


Dreambox Dm500 board initialize
Flash info. : INTEL Unknown
[dm500] reading CA:ca 00 01 06 20 6f 06 00 09 34 20 6f 06 06 04 ff
Readed Config Area
Configuration Area
Mac Address: 00:09:34:28:6f:06
Redunderant Mac Address: 20:6f:06
Tuner Type alps
Mac Address Change Requested

Commit Config Area
Configuration Area
Mac Address: 00:09:34:01:a4:3f
Redunderant Mac Address: 01:a4:3f

Erase Flash done

Then it just sits there and wont go any further. Have tried the jtag_windows.exe and that just wont connect.

Anybody shed some light on where Im going wrong, does this mean that my jtag cable is fine and connection is good.

Looks to me like its done..."flash erase Done!!"
Try a serial flash with dreamup now and see if it responds.Choose an image from downloads or external sources.

As far as Ive been reading other threads its supposed to then dwnload the alps flash and count up to 100% for it to be complete.

Ive even rebuilt the jtag again with other type cables with same result think Ive nearly knacked the solder points on the board maybe one more go left.

Could be one of 2 possibillities.

1)Cant detect flash chip type properly: Intel unkown

2) The 2alps.bat file when I open it up seems to have commands to pause as follows:

jtagdm500 -m dm500 -e 00:09:34:01:af:3f

pause

Could that be a problem, Ive got 2 files of the jtagdm500AIO which both has the same commands does it not need extra commands to download from somewhere.

Thanks fergal for that Ive allready downloaded from there and read that thread so many times.

Got a bit of an update that probably points to this box being unjagable ( might have just made that word up ).

The cable and points are fine as info.bat and alps.bat connect fine consistently and after numerous attempts with the jtag_windows program managed to connect on 2 occasions both with the program downloaded from different sources with sae results as follows.

DreamFlash for Windows v0.1
xxx CPU and JTAG communication check xxx
=== > cpu seems to be ok
xxx Memory Check xxx
Flash memory ID`s do not match ( should be 0x89 and 0x17 )
Are you sure this is a Dreambox 7000s

Has the person I got this off buggered this up by flashing a wrong image or have I downloaded the wrong windows version of this program although it said it was for 500s.

Any pointers to this or is it time to give up. Getting the box going is not important I just wanted to see if could do that.

I hate giving up.

After few days of trying with windows program finally managed to connect with jtag and it said everything was ok.

It wrote the blimg file to 100% so thought gr8 im on my way but think its made it worse cos now te green light dont come on when you power up so dreamup (various versions) cant connect to it and only the network light in the middle of mobo flashes with the network cable in if I take cable out the network light goes off.

Is that it the end of the road for this box or is there other possibiities.... why would it go to 100% and then bugger up even worse.

Just trying to bump this up just in case anyone has any ideas.

I eventually managed to connect with the windows program and flashed 100%
only for it to not connect with any versions of dreamup and losing the green light I had before.
