NEED HELP where to put tar.gz

i am totally new in this DM500s receiver i want to put proton plugin that is one month free and file name is proton_dm500_21nov10.tar.gz , my question is where to put this file pls guide me step by step i shall thankfull to you.

Put it in /tmp/ then use the manual plugin install script.
