dm500s missing channel and wont lock on some transponders

Hi can some one help me i have 2 dreambox 500s and one works perfectly and the other cant seem to lock on to all transponder so all channels are not being found how can i fix this im stumped

Have you tried to add a new set of Enigma bouquets like Sgtflipflops?

yes i have tried the bouquets from my other box channels are there but nothing shows on them same channels everytime thanks for your quick reply.

Would be tempted to reflash you might have a corrupt image if all setting are the same as the other box.

Like andy said maybe a reflash, but I would make a back up image of your working box and put the backed up image on the box you are having problems with.

Hi again i have flashed it countless amounts of times really dont know what i could do next the box is near new and should work with no problem.I also dont know how to do a back up of the working one to make the image flashable for the other one.

depends on what image you got on working box some images have back-up plug in,you back it up with that then i gets put in /tmp folder on box then open flashfxp or what ever then retrieve the image in the /temp folder

The easiest way to back up your woring image is by using FlashWizard.

Using FlashWizard, You can then flash the faulty box with the backup image.

To eliminat power supply problems, try swaping the one from the working box with defective unit.
If it works, simply get the PSU repaired.

You could also swap the boxes to see if the LNB connection is fine.

Hi all thanks again i have jade 3 final on both just tried swapping the psu round still nothing and they are both attached to the same quad lnb straight connection with both aswell the one that doesnt work is newer than the other and i have also noticed the switch on the back both boxes seem to turn them on in different ways well what i mean is switch one way to turn on one box and switch the other way to turn on the other sorry for the story and thanks for your help.

If you have changed psu`s and also checked the lnb input then seems to points to a dodgy tuner.

The switch is not relevant here as long as its doing its job.

I would try and put a backup image of your fully working box but I would do it via dreamup.

Not sure what you mean there, if you are using null modem cable and using dreamup properly should give the option to save a backup to a location of your choosing on your pc.. Should end with a .img

Think you will have to name it backup.img to restore to box.

Maybe you need to change the files of type or try different version of dreamup.

If struggling then maybe better to save via telnet and ftp saved image to your pc.

If you cant get sorted with dreamup then comeback and Il try and give you the commands for telnet dont want to confuse you at this stage.

hi there i ve got same problem i cant get channel 4 and loads more the transponder wont lock its only 1 % ive tried 3 differnent images dont know what else to do ,ive got another box and it is fine ,any help please
