what do you do with a dreambox500s

OK got the box 500s (i live in spain) 2 dishes 1.1m pointed at 28.2 astra another 1.0m pointed at nilesat 101/102 loads of channels mostly locked. The question is i had a 30 euro reciever before the dream box and got all the same channels what can this dream box do i got told they are the dogs nuts. Im reading loads of threads about cams ccm's diablos cardshare where do i start to improve things.

Hi gloaning,

Firstly you are not going to open any channels on Astra 2 @28 East, other than card sharing of which no discussion on this subject is allowed by the Admin Devilfish on Digital-Kaos (Google it to find out more if you require).

What you can do with your dreambox is to load a Software cam or emulator normaly called CCcam you can use others if you so wish.

By loading the Cccam and keys onto your receiver you can open channels, (not a lot at the moment I will add, but most of us using this method are opening Digitv on Thor 0.8 West for Movies,PPV, and Sports including Premiership Football & Documentary channels, other services can be opened on other satellites but not as much as on Digitv.

You will need your Dreambox connected to your router for setup, satellite dish will need to be moved (from Astra 2 to another depending on what you realy want ) motorised dish would be the best for this hobby, download the software that you will need to get yourself started, you will find most of it in the download section, once you are up and ready you will get much more assistance fourm members here on Digital Kaos.

Ok alan sorry for all the simple questions i will learn quickly but here is more questions when i connect my router to my laptop or is it router to dreambox or is it laptop to dreambox???? ive just ordered three cables from broadbandbyer an (ethernet cable a patch cable and a crossover cable) what connects what to where. Ive downloaded flash wizard pro and believe i need that to install (cccam) i presume thats a soft cam. So what do i need cable wise to connect laptop to dream box or do i do it via the router i know these are idiot questions but im sorry i need to know. CAN I SAY THANKS IN ANTICIPATION TO YOUR REPLY.
