getting a new dm

getting a dm 500 on sat. are these ok as paying 140 and thats my first 7month. 10 a month there after. great server no glitches.

Ive a Dm500s and a Dreambox800hd and threy are like chalk and cheese.
You get what you pay for.
My opinion buy a basic box of your choice and find your own server.
The picture on the Dm 500s is terrible in sd compared to the Dreambox 800hd.
The Dm500s is a good starter box or good as a spare but if you want to watch a decen t picture choose the Dreambox 800hd.
As for servers none are perfect and dont go down that road in paying loads upfront you will be disappointed.

wel thanx ad how would you say terrible picture. as would it not be the same quality as a standerd sly box. and i know the guy so he up front said hd is better but i av never bothered with hd always starview then basic sky

Im probably used to hd,for how much hd tvs cost nowadays i would invest in a tv and get a hd sat box.
You can get a Dreambox 800hd from China delivered for about 100 quid so its a no brainer.
Do it yourself you will get help all the help and info from the forum and be much wiser in the long run.
Buying a dm500s setup for 140 quid in my eyes is a waste of money and no guarantee the quality of the service is any good.

and is 10 pound a month i pay and thats hd and all pay per views aswell was paying 25 to sly for just basic with cartoons

Yep m8 thats a good box I would have agreed with the other poster a standard 500 I wouldn't bother. I would have gone for an openbox as that is HD and comes in at about 55 quid. Its not open linux but as a basic hd reciever its good

Dont know much about the Dm500hd but im guessing its alot better than the dm500s and is similar to the Dm800hd.
As for the glitching nothing is perfect.
These boxes are not just plug and play so its better to try it yourself so if you come across any problems its an easy fix.

Dont always get what you pay for but if you're happy fair enough.
I pay less for a multi sat set up but 10 quid is roughly the going rate.
