im confused what cables go where ive got an ethernet cable a crossover cable and a patch cable . Im trying to connect laptop router and dreambox 500 and cant figure out what the diffrence is PLEASE HELP

cross over cable goes direct from laptop to dreambox
ethernet/patch cable goes from laptop to router then router to dreambox
or laptop wireless to router then router to dreambox
most routers you can still use the crossover cable or ethernet from laptop to router or router to dreambox

You only need a crossover cable if you don't have router otherwise just stick with a ethernet/patch cable.Comment
