got a dm 500s to mess about with but havn't been able to do anything as when i connect everything turn it on the green power light comes on at the front and nothing else happens, is it bricked?, can it be recovered? any ideas?

I think i have a serial not null modem cable so i will get a null modem cable and then give it a go, thanks
