    ip address

dreambox 500s not working,i think it might be a problem with ip address.my vir**n super hub says dbox ip is 192.168.0.2 but under device name is blank, should this not say dreambox?
my pc ip address ends 0.3,my router ends 0.1.
    is this correct?
    any help would be great.
    thanks

if your router ends is 0.1 and your pc ends in 0.3 then 0.2 is a feasible address..

If you bring up cmd on your laptop and type in ipconfig/all this will bring up your correct ip settings or the gateway ip which is the routers ip address.
Your virgin ip address doesnt look right to me.

The dreambox needs to mirror the routers ip address.
Change the last digits so make Dreambox 500 ip 192.168.0.100

Gateway is the routers ip address if its correct then use 192.168.0.1 or 0.3 whatever is the correct ip of router.

Nameserver should be same as gateway, hope this helps.

          Andy.

Thats right,if you put Dreambox ip in as 192.168.0.100
Then gateway is routers ip which is 192.168.0.1 and use this as the nameservers in your settings for the box.
If you enable dhcp it will assign a new dreambox ip address every time you turn the box on and off.
Better to have a static ip than a dynamic ip address.

If you want the router to give you an ip address then tick dhcp if you want to assign your own ip address then untick it.

                  THE TRUTH
                  The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

I've just been wrestling with a SuperHub myself the last few days and the only thing that wouldn't work was my sat box.

I don't have a Dreambox but have an ITGate and my channels wouldn't clear at all even though my box had an IP address and cccam info showed up that I was connected to the server but still no channels until I was messing around and in the Communication settings of the box at the bottom I have a setting called OPEN PORT and when I hit that it said something about linking the internal port with the external port then it stopped and hey presto my channels clear now.

I've never had to use that setting before, didn't even know what it done but it worked for me however I'm not sure about your dreambox and if you have the same setting.
