starting from scartch - dreambox dm500-s

Hi friends

I am new to the forum, I alrady have one dreambox dm500-s, installed at my house but that was done by someone else and I ahve to pay him on monthly basis.

So would somebody be able to help me setup a new dreambox dm500-s from scratch, so that i may become able to be independent and I also want to configure multiple dreamboxes for some of my other friends too.

I have just got a Dreambox DM500-S secondhand with a 2.4 metre dish here in New Zealand. Initially I wish to set this decoder up on the Optus D1 satellite. (I already have a set-up receiving channels from this satellite using other decoders). The problem with this one is that the Menu button gives the screen showing the 4 colours red, green, yellow and blue with the following words in them all services, satellites, providers, and bouquets in them. Clicking on these with the remote does not give access to any set-up menus as indicated in the User Manual. How do I gain access to set up transponders and to do searches.
