Do you think its a good ideal to flash over the network using telnet and ftp to upload the image to the box, how does it compare to using a null cable.

Use flashwizard, put in your ip, locate you image file, then flash.
Done in about a minute. -

Do it with your lappy using Dreambox Edit.
