    Problem with DM 500s

    Hi
Have been using my 500s with no problems but today it won't show on tv.
The green power light is on but nothing displays on tv.
I have a second box and plugged it in using same connections and it works perfectly.
    Any ideas

The power supply is fine as it works with another box.
Will try reflash but never flashed a 500s before only an 800hd by browser.
      Will try later. Thanks

Try 1.3.3.4 and try it with or without ethernet cable and null modem cable and tick network.

            Andy.

Make sure you have a null modem cable and some patience it will work trust me.
Best to be on xp and do it from a desktop pc not a lappy.
Several versions of Dreamup so check downloads and gve them a try/

                  Cheers.
Yea I'm on a pc with windows 7.
It may be that I'm using an adapter for the null modem cable?
Although it does say its connected and to turn box on.
Just doesn't allow me to press flash when I turn box on.
What other versions of dream up is there?

                        Ok Update
I brought my 500s into work and tried it on an old pc and bingo it worked straight away.
So my pc doesn't like the adapter for null cable .
What is the exact name of the port I need, I may buy one and install on my pc.
                        Is it a pci slot?
                        Thanks for help

My mate is givin me an old pc that has a 9 pin serial port on it.
It has windows 7 installed. Would it be better with windows xp to use with null modem cable or will it be fine with windows 7?
