I've tried to stream using the online utilty using this image and it doesnt seem to work, and i've seen guides on how to stream to your PC but they are for image such and gemeni. Can any help me out?

same - works fine on local network but not via IP.
to get it working on local network install VLC v0.8.6b - seems to be most stable. you can find it at oldapps website.
anyone have any tips on how to work it externally? I can access the web gui, control the box from another IP just cant stream! Whats ports are needed? -
Why not upgrade to the latest (27 Jan 2013) Commando 14.7 image? This has a vastly improved yWeb I/F with online access to the PT-1 FAQ Help resource. Just click Info > About then follow the link. (This won't work on 14.6 as the link points to the old ukcvs.org url)
Whilst this helpfile was originally written for dBox2, many areas such as Streaming with VLC etc share common ground with the DM500 box. C14.6 is state of the ark in comparison to our latest image!
