DM500-s problem with video composite scart

    Hi All,

I have a 500-s that was working ok then started to go black and white in both pin/scart connections... It is not both cables as with another dm500-s are working fine... Giving the box a little tap on it the colour return ok.... one day i gave a big bang on the box and now it is all black although the box light goes green and when i press off on the remote goes red....

Which component inside the box is responsible for the video output please ?

i can clearly see the cpu, the rams, the rs232, and network ic but where is the video components or area please ?

On this link h**p://www.dreambox.org.uk/faq/4.html there is a very good description of the dm500-s components but no mention of the video ones.

    Please help

    Hi
I would start by stripping down the DM 500 as far as necessary and make sure you don't have a bad solder joint on the scart sockets where they go through the main motherboard. After that the only other options are to pay a specialist or bin it. It does seem very suspect/more expensive that both scarts are down.

as said both cables (scart/pin jacks) are not down otherwise would not work with another receiver and i said it was.... I found on the web a pdf full diagram (attached) where you can see on e.pdf that the video signal come out from U15 which is the IBM CPU...

trying to find a cold soldering on a cpu is impossible without proper tools!

      Let's bin the 500-s
