    Dreambox 500s faulty

Hi, I?m trying to sort out my friend?s dreambox 500s clone, as far as I can see it has 2 faults it does not respond to remote control and freezes a lot.
I have flashed it with 3 different images via telnet and through the cable still the same problem, with regard to remote control if the same button is press repeatedly for about 30 sec the green light does flash once but the remote control works fine on my dreambox, so the remote control is not faulty.
If I connect dcc to the box and use the network remote control the box work fine, also I have opened the box to check IR sensor the board looks fine also I refreshed the solder on that board and still the same, also all the caps look fine on the motherboard and the power board, so I am stuck to what could be the problem although I?m quiet it?s a hardware fault not a software, the box does not suffer from heat, any ideas please?

so from what you say, front panel is ****ed. new box is needed, simple as that, or buy a faulty one off ebay with board problem, and cobble togrther a working box

Yes front panel needs to be sorted either replaced or fixed, but I don***8217;t think that is the only problem with this box, it freezes a lot with every image I have tried on it.

I?m sure it is not the server and it?s not the image because I have the same image with the same server on my other dreambox the box works great, it is something to do with the hardware of the faulty box.

I would say to him new box is needed. At between ?40-50, it won't break the bank. Too much time on a box like that would cost me more money in time, better staying at work for a couple of hours overtime

Well I have flashed the erase image first with telnet then flashed it again with my back up image that has all the setting from my own dreambox which I know is a good image, now it seems to work ok but the remote control sensor still not responding.
