    Newbie DM500 User

    Hi All,
I have had a DM500 for around 8 months now and I am just about to start upgrading once I know what I am doing. This site is fantastic and full of help, and I am just starting to get my head around some of the lingo, I think. My box has just been sat under the tv and providing me with programs to watch and I have no idea as yet on how or why it is configured the way it is. So I am going to do my first bouquet upgrade. It looks like something I can handle but I am just pre-warning you guys that there is a very good chance this could all end in tears and I may have many questions for you.
Also I would like some opinions on a new box. I want it recordable and HD, (budget of upto ?150), at the moment I am on a basic Sly astra dish.
Thanks all , I am sure you will be hearing more from me.

      hi
make a back up of your working image
then if you have a problem you can flash the backed up image back to the dm500

        Cheers for the replies guys,
I uploaded my new bouquets with no problems, I was very surprised how easy it was. The next thing is flashing a box. I will be getting a new one soon but still undecided (will probably go for the DM800hd). I haven't look yet but is there a idiots guide step by step post on here or could someone provide one. I will get around to searching for a guide but there are a lot of guides to sift through.
        Cheers
