    New router

    Hi
Just been sent new router by Talktalk and have connected both dreamboxes(DM500) to the lan connections on the router but only one is working. They both worked on the old router. I have been sent a HG533 router and I am at my wits end, one box has been asinged a ip address but the other has not. I have rebooted, changed ethenet cable and re flashed but to no avail
I am running pli jade 3
    Thanks in advance
    Mike

The dreambox needs to get a new ip address, go into the network settings, turn off dhcp, enter 0.0.0.0 into the ip address and turn dhcp back on exit out of that menu and go back in, it shoud acquire a new ip from the router if dhcp is turned on in the router

turn off dhcp and give it a static address. I'm sure someone in the last 2 month had a very similar problem

Static ip on any box is always best as it stops any ip conflict.
Make sure both boxes don't share the same ip address and check the network to make sure the network settings match the new router and not the old router.

Andy, I have unticked dhcp, changed IP address to a random address(not conflicting) saved and rebooted but still the same. Funny thing is both boxes worked perfectly on the old router, i just plugged in and they worked. All the other lan conecction lights are on the router ie other dreambox and pc Can you tell me what setting i should be looking for on my talktalk router
                Thanks
                Mike

The new dreambox ip should reflect the routers ip barring the last digits.
If your new router for example is 192.168.2.1 you use the same numbers and change the last digit from 1 to something like .100 this way with dhcp disabled you can have a static ip. In gateway use the routers ip and the same for nameserver.

does it connect one box at a time? or is it just a problem with the dream?

change the mac address. your new router for some unknown reason assigned the ip. when i had this problem only way around was to change mac address.
