replacement remote help

i just received a replacement remote for my dreambox 600s

should this work out of the box right away etc

the lights are working fine on remote but no response from receiver

is there a code or anything i need to connect it to the receiver

please help!!!

there both identical are you sure its not the box needing reflashing.

my mind was sidetracked since NOV guys. it looks the same remote alright. Also i cant flash the box at all as it wont work with the null modem cable. if i could reflash i would also be happy
