I hope that someone here will be able to help me with a delicate problem. I've been searching through literally all dreambox forums now, no matter the language and no matter how small. So far, I haven't had any success.
My problem:
DM500plus S Original(no clone)
Suddenly dead(LEDs blinking permanently)
No sign from second stage boot loader
No communication on RS232
My suspiscion: Bootloader and/or OpenBIOS are inconsistent(/dev/mtd/2), hopefully without a physical flash issue.
I know the usual procedure, for such situations. I have a working jtag adapter and a DM500 bootloader ready.
However I can't proceed due to several reasons:
The jtag programmer for DOS(JtagDm500.exe) doesn't recognize the box:
Dreamflash v0.1, the windows jtag programmer, reports the CPU as OK, but doesn't recognize the flash ID either: "Flash Memory ID's do not match!(should be 0x89 and 0x17)." Hence the Write button stays disabled.
Unfortunately neither tells me the flash memory ID they're actually getting from the box.
Last tried software, still unsuccessful: EJTag TT 1.6.0.17_3:
Are there any recover possibilities left apart from solder the chip out and write it in a flash programmer?
I know the MTD offset structure and could write the bootloader and OopenBIOS at the correct offset, if I just could find appropriate tools for that task.
Is there anyone here knowing such a tool or can tell alternatives?
Side question: Is the DM500plus bootloader idential to the DM500 bootloader? I couldn't find a specific DM500plus bootloader on the web and don't have another device were I could get it from. The NFI images don't contain the first stage bootloader.
I'm really desperate and will appriciate any help.
