Im trying to reflash my dreambox DM500+ with Dreamup and nullmodem cable after having flashed it with an nfi (Newnigma) image, now after having connected to the box and loaded the flashtools to the box im only getting the option to choose nfi files and not img.

What to do ?

i would use dk1.1 image or dw2.1 there two good images

Would LOVE to try that, but it really dosent help if I can?t choose .img files in Dreamup, it will only let me choose .nfi files.

If flashing with Flashwizard, the diodes on the front is blinking like crazy after flash, so at the moment im only able to flash nfi files.

Dreamup should be able to flash .img files?? it shouldnt matter what other image is on box.

I always thought .nfi files were only for DM 600, someone correct me if Im wrong

From what i can read etc, it should be able to flash img files yes, but only extension i can choose in dropdown list is nfi, and I really don?t get it.

have you tried downloading a .nfi image like Pli off their website, Flash that to box then set it up for network, and then try DCC or flashwizard to update image over LAN

Flashed it with the newnigma.nfi file again and the box is up and running, BUT its a 35MB image, and i still want to change to a normal image, as I understand the normal image is about 4,5-5MB ?

Is pli one of the better solutions for DM500?

Running Newnigma on my DM800, there it?s working proper, also better specs on that thing.

Aha that explains it thought it was only the DM600 that used .nfi images.

Its all down to personal preferrence, I use Pli as it seems most stable on my box plus I know my way round that image

Downloaded a few pli images, all are in .img format, so im back where i started.

pli image should work on the folowing boxes.
PLi?-Jade2-DM500 (regular and maxvar)
* PLi?-Jade2-DM500+ (Plus)
* PLi?-Jade2-DM600
* PLi?-Jade2-DM5600/5620
* PLi?-Jade2-DM7000
* PLi?-Jade2-DM7020

Anyone have a clue why i can only choose .nfi in Dreamup ?
