Dreambox 500s Newbie

Hey Peepz
Iam I newbie to the dreambox 500s. I 've just flahed my box with the new commando image 14.6.
I need a idiots guide on my next steps, loading cams, mgcam, all the channels or bouquet or something you call them? I need to know what programs i need to get into the dreambox folders to install these & also where to input my server codes for everything to work.

That is not "the new" commando image, reflash with 14.7, have a read up, then post back.

Hi Guys

Ok, i've tried loaded the C14-7-dm500 backup birmingham file.
Transfer CCcam.cfg to /var/etc/ then right click and edit your "own info" into it.
Transfer CCcam.ppc to /var/bin/emu/ then right click and rename it to CCcam (the capital letters are important.
Still no joy.
I have a N line do you think is the problem? trying to put a N line into a CCcam?
I know the new commando image comes with two more files (Kabel & libcrypto) which are ment to be for mcamd or N line. Can someone advise where I need to copy these files into or help me in any way to get this box going?

Hi Guys
I've now changed to the PLI image which is meant to be a bit easier, I have installed the bouquets & ccam. When I connec to the tv, at the transponder stage you can do auto or manual scan. Choosing auto scan you have two choices SR6900 or SR6875. While it's doing the scan the SNR flicks between 63-68 %, the SNR stays at 100 % & i think the BER is the freq it's searching. I have tried both choices but it doesn't lock onto a satalite why is this? on the manual option you have to input a freq, I don't know this, can anyone help?

how do I know if this cable box or sat box?

Should say 500s (Satellite) or 500c (Cable) on front of box
