db500s picture quality

i've set up a dreambox 500s but very disappointed with its picture quality , can anybody advise if it can be improved or will i have to get a more expensive dreambox ? if so which 1 is best linux operated box?

I've never had any complaints about a dreambox picture quality it's not HD but it's on a par with any other box, are you sure you have the AV settings right on the box and TV. How's it connected component, scart?

what channels are you watching.. some of the foriegn channels are poor quality..

sorry i posted in wrong place..typical newbie .

its scart connected and i've tried all combinations of a/v settings with much the same result on all.

watching mainstream uk tv is best picture quality on it but not as good as vgn or sly official equipment..probably just me wants perfection but on other satelites picture quality is very poor compared to my previous reciever ..

channels on 1 deg west ,, 28 east.. 13 east .. pictures just dnt seem sharp and crisp
