2: no info on google abt the pace sv5 rang asda they have no idea what i was talking about,
3: Your total contribution to this forum, bordering on trolling, seems to have been a collection of snipes, one liners & asterisked expletives

It will work if you have a clear line of sight to the actual satellite you want to view, Lots of people have thrown up temporary rigs just in a garden but resting against a wall maybe pushing it a little, On aground mount or even a pole stuck buried in the lawn would work but with everything they have to be exactly plumb

You sure about that? All the satellites are in geosyncronous orbit directly above Earth's equator, about 22,000 miles out in space. That's why they are always .above the same spot.
I think you're letting the fact that the dish itself is almost vertical delude you into thinking that's where the Sats live, just above the horizon, LOL! They're designed like that, with offset LNB, to prevent snow build-up. If the LNB were central to the dish (like some old dishes were), then the whole thing would pointing upwards at a much greater angle, depending on local latitude, around 52? for London.
I agree, so long as he has a clean line of sight to the Sat from the dish, with no fences, walls, buildings nor trees in the way, there is no reason why this shouldn't work! I've seen many examples of this.
Cheers- AL

Re: 1m dish question
Angle in sky depends on where you are... Do you have a smart phone? Ie android or iPhone etc? As there are. Few apps that let you "see" the satellites from Your location.
And although the sats are at, say 45 degrees above the horizon - to the south, the dish may need to be more or less vertical!
Height of the dish is irrelevant... As long as you have a clear line of sight, you're cooking!
