    No RS232

    Hi guys.
I have a DM500S that has been gathering dust unused for a while and thought I'd have a go at getting it up and running.
I collected all the programs as recommended in other threads and printed out the guides but Dream Up won't work as my poxy Abit motherboard has no serial ports!

I'm a bit stumped. Is there a workaround for it? Since it works over the network, why does it need a serial port anyway?

Get a USB serial adapter and plug the null modem cable into that. They're only a few quid. You may have to fiddle with the COM port on DreamUp to get the right one though....

That's the one, wouldn't pay ?13 for it though. Get yourself on eBay.

          No worries, Mag.
