    Commando 14.7 jffs2 Help

    Hey,

Could do with a bit of help.

I went to upload Commando 14.7 to my DM500 due to the great feedback I've received from it.

However in DreamUp I keep getting the following error:

8:22:44 PM Found no valid jffs2 in image, flash-erase not supported

When Completed nothing happens with the box???

Anyone know how to fix this? The old software I had on it was a clone safe Pli Image

    Thanks

Commando for DM500 is unlike other images in that it is always released as a 7.75MB 'Flash w/o Bootloader' image. It does not contain a /var_init folder in the SquashFS root partition, and this is what DreamUP is telling you.

So do not press the [Flash Erase] button in DreamUP, just hit [Flash]

The reason we format Commando like this is that it allows us to use the skinniest r/o root partition possible (2.75MB), giving the user our world-beating JFFS2 r/w /var partition of 4.0MB (which is shedloads bigger than what you get with the so-called openpli maxvar images).

Tip: As well as connecting DreamUP via a null-modem serial cable, also deploy the ethernet cable and box IP. Flashing then takes two minutes, rather than 15!

        Cheers- AL
