DM500S locked at 'Kaos Extra Settings'

Was running latest Kaos image dk_v1.1.img on my recently purchased DM500S.
Trying to get emulators working, so adding and removing in the Kaos Panel-Manager, then I went into 'Kaos extra settings' and it locked.
Rebooted - fine. Pressed yellow remote button and all it displays is Kaos Panel with one menu item - 1) Kaos Extra Settings - then locks again.
Have erased and reimaged with Kaos dk_v1.1.img - exactly the same happens.
Flash erased and then Imaged with Gemini_420_DM500_17122007.img, then uploaded my backup (that was working fine) with FlashWizard - same fault.
Erased and reflashed again with serial port with dk_v1.1.img and it is still broke.
I must have spent over 24 hours trying to get this to decode and now it's bust - I am going to cry!
Anyone offer any help - please?

Have all of you who are having this proble tried Flash erase then maybe a different image?

loaded buy supplier but went to upgrade and loaded new image will tell you it is old version just upgrade with this and extra settings work fine

After you do a factory reset, do an automatic transponder scan on a satellite, scan it in and reboot the box using the 'reboot now' option in the shutdown menu. The menu should work now.

I've seen this before and the above seems to fix it, not sure why it does this.
