hello im new to using dreamboxes and i need some help please

hi i am having trouble connecting my dreambox 500s to my computer and i have no serial port so i have bought a null modem to usb but im having trouble connecting it to my pc because i dont know the specific drivers also i dont know how to change the com1 into usb format and im confused on what to do if i could get any help or any tutorials i will be very greatful
