New DM500s...a little help please

My new toy arrived today, it must be a clone, as they stopped making them 2 years ago, and the MAC address on the front of the box is not the same as the actual MAC address being recognised by my router...However, when i check the MAC address it is the same as the ones used by Dream multimedia ( 00:09:34 etc ) and when i check the box with DM500 clone bomb checker it states that there is no clone bomb and gives me the green light....does this mean that i can use any gemini image etc, or do i still need to be careful what image i use ???

am no expert mate but i have nabilo or pli images working perfect on i would say not to install gemini above 4.2 just to be safe thers are lots of good images out there
as to your ip address it will be different from router ie 192.168.2.5 i think im not 100 p/cent sure hope this helps good luck mate

its a clone.. dont risk anything higher than Gemini 4.2.. I've a genuine box and havent updated past Gemini 4.2.. not seen any need, its very stable

Don't risk it, I use sifteam 1.9.3 and I found it to be the best image for DM500 "great image".

Many thanks for the reply...can i Re-flash my box with Gemini 4.2 by using Dream-up ?? I have just flashed it with PLI jade 3...although i do not really know what is the best to use...so if people suggest a particular image i would prefer to use that one...

try nablio darkstar very stable and easy to use for downloading cams ect via the yellow button

Hi mate.. best to find an image you like and stick with it.. My friend used Gemini thats who recomended it to me.. I flashed my box with it, it worked, never had any problems so ive never changed it..

Others will have the same experiences with Jade, Nablio and DK..

Any of the main images will be fine.. i like Gemini as its simple and user friendly
