Fresh Newbie with no idea !!

I have a simple 40inch dish with a universal LNB. So I would be able to get s*y without this 'CARDSHARING' am i correct ? So with my setup of black box and dish i need to to get technical to get my S*y. So be it if it saves me ?50 per month . I am on my way to finding the holy grail , Im sure there must be Threads on this site to help. Thanks for your advice and hopefully within the next 2 weeks (while the wife is away) i can conquer this BlackBox. PS dont be so hard on us newbies we all have to start somewhere. Hopfully if the Grail is found i will post my thoughts here again.

Okay firstly 40inch dish isnt simple..thats over 1m..
I know you mean 43cm minidish..
Sky Tv is not viewable for free mate..the only way is via cardsharing which discussion here is not allowed..please google cardsharing and dreambox500s (a blackbox is exactly the same)..
Then do some reading about what is required to cardshare..although i can tell you its highly illegal!

I have a few questions that have been of some confussion to myself and probably others, can anyone be of help in offering their answers .

1/ The DK (Digital Kaos) which is on my startup screen is this the so called 'IMAGE' ?

2/ Is this IMAGE an old IMAGE as all the help talk about the 'GEMINI IMAGE'.

3/ The IMAGE is this just a setup program ?

4/ I pressed the 'PANIC' button in the program to see what it did it seemed to close down the program which i then had to reboot, but all of the settings seem to be still intacked so would it have taken any other items off without me knowing ? I still get the same progs on screen.

5/ Can you tell me what the card slot in the from off the machine is for if we cannot get encripted channels on the Blackbox ?

2. No.. There are loads of images.. DK, Gemini, PLi, Nabilosat
3. No its the operating software.. like Windows to a PC
4. If you dont know what you are doing why do it..??
5. A card.. like a sky card.. You cant get encrypted channels via EMU, if you use an official card then obvioulsy you can view channels.. If you get a sky card then get a sky box

i know there is no such thing as a stupid question but its obvious you have not read anything about the box or how it works.. can i ask why you have bought one then..??

Thanks for your help. The reason i purchased the Black box was because i have read somewhere that you can obtain S*y Sports via satellite , along with a broadband connection ?
So are you saying that the black box is just a cheap version of a satillite receiver ?
If not what else can it do that a legit receiver cannot do ?

sorry mate if you bought your box for sky its been a waste of money..

the dreambox does not open sky without cardsharing which is extremely complex..
sky's encryption is un-open.. its not like the cable scene

the satellite box requires savy IT knowledge and is best used to open European channels only on different satellites to Sky's 28E..

All you will view with your Blackbox / Dreambox on Sky is free channels like BBC ITV etc

Even if you find a server or cardshare (which is not an open topic here, so please stop asking for information) the NDS encryption that sky uses is top notch.. It will freeze and jump a lot..

The Dreambox Satellite is best used to open European Satellite channels like Novasports Greece, Premeire Germany, Canal+ France, Canal+ Poland, Canal+ Spain..

If you want to watch SKY then buy a sky box and subscription..

I dont think i can make it any easier than this:

You cant watch Sky Sports, Sky Movies etc on a Dreambox Satellite properly as the NDS encryption is too good.. You cant get around NDS, you can wait all you like.. It's closed, not open..

You can though watch European satellite sports channels.. but you will need to cardshare.. very technical, very hard to set up..

Ebay is littered with Dreamboxes, Blackboxes etc that people have bought but cant set up..

Its not a satellite receiver... Its a mini PC running Linux operating software that requires programing.. it just happens to have a satellite tuner built in

I have a TM5400+ and motorized dish as dreambox500s or blackboxes are cheep at the moment I was thinking of getting one to have a play about with. Would I get any more channel open than the TM, I’m not bothered about s?y or CS at this time. Thanks

without CS the technomate IMO is the better box for user friendliness but that defeats the point Of dreamboxes...
