Whats the story with the newer boxes like 800se as they have no rs232 - is it flash by browser only?

my dreambox appears to not be booting, i cannot flash the normal way so i thought i would try dream up, my pc however does not have anywhere to connect a null modem cable too, will a usb adapter or some sort of custom cable work or do i need to get a serial card for my pc, its a new pc so have to be pci express one, is there such a thing??

i am trying to flash my dm500 but dreamup wont recognize it. i am using a null cable connected to the laptop with through usb. DO i really need a pcmcia cable

try using dreamup v1.3.3.4. if error remain it could be hardware fault.

maybe u r ot using right nullmodem cable. pls check with multimeter it is straight link or cross.. nullmodem cable is cross.

I tried flashing my DM500S using Universal DreamUp V1.3.2(becos it's not booting), everything seem ok for a while, but later gave ERROR resetting lock-bits!

Dreamup 1.3.3.4 is very popular make sure you're using null modem cable on a desktop pc.
