help dm500s

I bought a dm500s but think I may have been sent a 500c in error, the box wouldn't pick up a sat signal when hooked up to my sat dish, but I tried hooking it up to cable and it has found all channels, anyone know if it is possible to get cable with a dm500s, I think I already know the answer but want to be sure?

Yeah you got sent the wrong receiver..
Cable Tv use symbol rates which sat tuners cant So i advise you to get intouch and send it back

Well I'm getting sorted with the correct box, thankfully the guy I bought it from is a decent sort and has held his hands up to the error.
