flashing a dreambox dm 500

hi all I was on the other day about an ip address which as all been sorted but am trying to flash my dreambox with dream up am having no look at all ive connected my box to the laptop through the null modem the ips of the network and box are there now but still nothing!!!! I have noticed the port con/com how do I find out what the com is and could it be that anyhelp at all would be great thanks all

Flash it off a desktop pc these adapters for laptops are not very reliable, easier with null modem cable and dreamup and Windows Xp off a desktop pc.

Keep your eye on "device manager" when you attach the cable, it will be easier to spot which com port it assigns as you will see a change in one of the entries
