help required Please.

hi i am total newbie to this thing bought a second hand dm500s , it was working OK and just out of curiosity i tried to put a new image and used the step by step method of ftp but ended up with deleting files in temp folder
and now i am stuck with green light with no remote function and no screen on TV. any help will be really appreciated. i tried to connect the dream box via dreamup and ftp again but its not responding to any thing at all.
Please i shall be thankful for any expert advice from the all the senior members here.

I always use a null modem cable, as mentioned in the guide, when using Dream Up.

Thanks a million Pjmorie i tried what yourself suggested and it worked , the only problem left is that i flashed it with commando 14.7 image , it provide me with channel list but when i scan for satellite it fails
please can you suggest which image will be stable for dm500s. thank you again

Commando 15b is the most up to date verison of that image and it's mostly for the Astra 28.2E feed. After flashing and booting it up for the first time it should bring up the 'Set My Location' routine. You select what your local ITV region is or if your in ROI and it should work. If this doesn't work make sure your satellite feed to the box is OK.

I have tired all of the images for the DM500 and my favourite is OpenPLi, just as it is for all of my receivers, give it a try it doesn't however have a auto bouquet plugin at least not for the DM500.
