    DM500S Transponder problem

Hi, I've bought a new DM500S (clone) and what ought to be a half an hour setup was a three days nightmare.

The problem and conclusion: It seems as the transponder is only scanning in the vertical polarization.
If I go to en.kingofsat.net/sat-i1002.php and look up transponder 12643(H) 27500 3/4 I get the channels from those listed under the same setup but (V). If I scan the channels under (V) they get listed twice but they both work.

Now If I download the channel list into DreamBoxEdit I can see different channels in both the V and H plane and they are working fine. But because the transponder will not scan in the H plane I don't get those channels at all. The channels originally scanned under H come up in Dreamboxedit under a frequency however those scanned under V are listed as CABLE!

I've already tried nearly every possible image... Same story

Anyone with a decent advise, please?

if the receiver is not picking up certain transponders it would point to a dish problem.. what sats are you scanning and with what dish..?

      Dish is 80cm with a SHARP BS1R8EL100A LNB. Scanning Thor3/5, Intelsat 10-02
The thing is if I connect the cable to another box (Humax) it is working like charm.
In the meantime I've uploaded captains bouquet list - now the channels show up, but when I switch there it says 'Service could not be found!'. Those from the V Transponder work fine as before.

you can get them with an 80cm ops m8.

my brother can has digitv in caravan on his zone2 60cm dish, a little low on signal (68%) but still gets it in good weather

I get both packages on a 80cm and I live about 20 miles west of London. I have also had Digitv running on a little camping dish at my location when I had my old receiver. Think the camping dish was 40cm.

I live in CE and I'm a Digi subscriber... I just wanted to have another box.

It seems that the receiver is not setting 13V and 18V for the vertical and horizontal polarisation of the LNB respectively...

                  Right, I've checked the voltages:
                  Humax - Vertical 13.6V, Horizontal 18.6V
                  Dreambox - Vertical 11.7V, Horizontal 11.7V

I connected the 2 boxes in serial - Humax providing the voltage for polarization and Dreambox can now detect the H polarized transponders and channels. Unfortunatelly this way I'm not gonna have a box in the other room. And switching channels is just a bit of a pain...

Any one (maybe a programmer) who knows how the hardware works, maybe there is an easy way to fix it (change a diode or a transistor...) or where the out port or anything is where the voltage control is...

Box may be faulty, I'd try sending it back to whoever you got it from before you start messing around with the insides.
