Dreambox 500s

My Dreambox is not recognised by either FileZilla or DDC. Any ideas please ?

In DCC are you entering the correct address for the dreambox?

Does DCC connect to your router?

have you reflashed the box with a different image ? . a different image may have a different ftp password by default . the most common default user name and password is
username = root
password = dreambox

the above defaults may be displayed in dcc , if not its worth trying them .

unlike dcc vucc has no password displayed by default so you have to type it in .


if your still having issues post and give us as much info as possible .

After all that my box is now loosing all channels overnight apart from the last one watched so i have to rescan on a daily basis. Help please ?

you shouldnt be losing channels like that , and thats not a problem ive ever seen on any dm500 . but i would say either your image is seriously faulty/ corrupt or you may have a tuner problem , its rare to see tuner problems (but they can occur) so i would say you should try a reflash . use dreamup to erase your current image and then flash a new image , dont re use the current image because if its got a fault it will likely re occur , download the same image (or a different image) from a different download source and then re flash . if its just an image problem a re flash should fix the problem , if its a tuner issue you could in theory change the tuner if your good with a soldering iron . but considering its just a dm500s and that they and other boxes are quite cheap it may be better to buy a new box , you can get an enigma 2 box for under ?100 these days , and enigma 2 allows you to add plugins such as tsmedia for thousands of free movies / tv series / iptv and also you would have youtube and you can add iptv links to the box also so its worth considering should your tuner be faulty . that said i hope your tuner is ok and that a re flash fixes the box .
