New to Dreambox

Hi, I am thinking of going down the Dreambox road and starting with a 500s if all goes well I will bin my Technomate 6900hd and get a better Dreambox but I know absolutely zip about the Dreambox. I know they will do ?things? the Technomate will not but can it be used in the same way as a Technomate like patching? Any info welcome better still an idiots guide would be great.

The dreambox can do everything that a Technomate can do except it is lot easier managing a Technomate. You may want to check out the dreambox cable section so you can review some of the technical skills required with the dreambox.
