DM500S keeps rebooting after trying to set motor

    Hi!

I've run into problems with my DM500S (Nabilo 0.8) when I added a Moteck 2100 H-H motor mount to my dish.
Prior to the motor's installation, the receiver worked fine on Thor 1.0W.
After I've installed the motor, I've used a Smart MX 04 receiver and everything went fine. I stored the position of certain satellites on the motor. Then, I decided to swap the Smart receiver for DM500S. In the configuration I chose the multiple satellites on DiSeqC motor.
Then, I got the message to please wait till the motor moves. But this wasn't dissapearing at all. Anyway, I rebooted a few times hoping this will dissapear but instead the receiver got into problems. After the logo appears, the TV image goes black and then I see the logo again. This keeps repeating over and over again. Seems like the receiver got stuck into reboots.

BTW, I put back the Smart and it works fine with the motorized dish. So, it seems to me this is a bug in the Nabilo image. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Should I try re-flashing the unit. Which image should I choose?

    Cheers!

this is because the locations for each satellite in the motor is stored in the receiver. you will need to retune all sats with the dreambox on.

Read the Rules here; they apply to Everyone.

Out of curiosity, did you manage to make the motor move with the dreambox?

there have been issues about dreamboxes not moving motors, I did indeed suffer this problem myself, but I did find out the cure.. ;-)

Nabilo image is good when used with a fixed dish. When it comes to motorised multi-sat settings it keep on crushing for me, losing all the settings in the process. I had to abandon it for pli jade 3.

Thanks! First, of all I've tried a few different images and found that with most of them after a while, the voltage dropped unexpectedly at the LNB IN plug. I inserted a satfinder and saw that after 3-5 minutes, the backlight was off and also the SNR dropped a lot. Might be a hardware issue ... I don't know.
I even tried with a power supply capable of delivering 4 amps but the voltage drop problem kept repeating.

Anyway, I flashed the latest Pli Jade image for DM500 and this time everything went nice and smooth.

No more voltage drops. And I have followed your advice and now I have 10 sats working fine and I'm not done yet with the search. Thanks again!

I am happy now, because I thought I might have a defective unit.
