help dreambox 500s

hi guys i bought a clone dreambox 500s it worked for a while but then started to freeze cant turn on or off wont let me put image on it keep getting error cant reset lock bits is this box dead or can i fix it cheers it will flash the image but half way through flash erase get the error

Try flashing an original Dream Multimedia image onto the dm500 and then try flashing with your normal image.

I hope I'm wrong but it sounds as it is pretty dead...

As Curious stated above flash the box with the original dream image then reflash with a working image, I do hope you have backed up your image otherwise you will loose all your sat positions. The original image can be found in the link below.

hi guys tried what you said but just keep getting ERROR resetting lock-bits!! it says ping ok box alive and speaking to us so i dont know what to do ?

try again with internet unticked. using dreamup and null modem cable. I've had a few like that and I just keep trying and eventually it works. Thel ocked bit is just a bit of memeory has become courpted during your bad flash.

try useing an old pc with a old printer port rs32 socket conect yor null cale to it and the to your 500s and then use dreamup

trying change image with rs232 cable or ethernet cable there is no connection between pc and box tryed to used both dreamup and flashwizard no joy
it is clone box
is my box dead?

sound like you have a bad flash on the unit. you need to reflash it is all.
