Hi all,

I bought a BlackBox 500 and thought I'd start with a good base image - eg DK1.1

I flashed it DCC 2.93 over the LAN.

Everything stated it worked ok, the unit rebooted itself afterwards.

The problem is the unit continually reboots itself now on startup.

I get the DK splash screen and then reboot.

Whats the best method to fix? Dreamup?

yes use dreamup with a null cable and it all should be fine again

Many thanks - I will give that a try.

I am puzzled why the flash didn't work - I still want to use DK1.1 - I assume there are no issues with that image on a Blackbox 500?

i always use the nabilosat image but i have not heard of any problems with the dk image just read through the guides on here and you should be fine

Sometimes if you have a bad flash the box tends to keep rebooting and you have reflash using dreamup. It used to happen to me on DK image especially when transferring services files directly to the box via ftp. Turned out I was doing it wrong and had to transfer the services file as .tgz file to the tmp and manual install the files via the box menu. I realised this after fully reading the DK pdf user manual!

Just to let you know that DreamUp worked a treat!

I have noticed when using the BD500, the DK image does lock up on me a few times... but to be honest, I'm only going to be using it to serve my sky card and not to watch TV on it.

I am now fighting with installing CCCam and NewCam - there seems to be so much confusing/conflicting information out there!

I think I've got CCcam installed - just need to configure it.

Now looking at Newcam!
