I have two DM500S boxes and both have problems. The first box was dead before but could be restored using DreamUp and a NullModem cable. The only problem seems to be now that it is not able to do a scan for any channels. When I do a scan on Astra (Diseqc A) or Hotbird (Diseqc B) than the screen is distorted and a bad noise is heard. I have measured the voltage on the power supply that drops from 11.6V to 4.5V when the Sat scan is activated. I believe that the tuner is defective but am not sure. It could also be the (external power adapter).
The second box is stuck and does not answer to the DreamUp program and the NullModem cable.
Could this box be saved using the JTAG solution?
