I am experimenting with recording on my 500s over a wireless network to a PC mounted hard drive.
I am using Pli Jade 3 image and a wireless access point.
My wifi connection is rock solid and I can stream the box to my pc with vlc and its pretty good.
I have tried recording using both the dvr and ngrab methods.
Using the DVR method the video stream is jittery and breaks up alot.
Ngrab is alot better ,the file recorded on my pc is perfect but when I play it back on the Dreambox I get slight freezing and mostly sync errors,the audio is delayed.
Has anyone any experience of recording over wifi ?
I saw that people have difficulty recording over a wired network so perhaps I am wasting my time and the network controller in the 500s just isnt up to the job.
