Dreambox setup, what hardware required?

i use 2 5meter normal network cable which i joined together to make it 10 meter,connect that to me router and dm600 ( which is in bedroom)


also forgot to add that i use a wireless bridge connect me dm600 (downstairs) to the router

if out of a router normal ethernet cable or crossover will do
didnt you like the idea i put in the second post saves alot of trailing cables
powerline adapter into your router and plug socket ,the second one in the room were your dreambox is and into another plug socket uses your wiring in your home plug un play

Not a bad idea mate but when im 'sharing the cards' wont this stutter etc through wireless? Plus it will be more exspensive to buy homeplugs AND network wireless adaptor for dreambox wont it as opposed to me buying a 40m network cable?

You can still do it the way Westkill says, without getting any stutter ect,
if you move your modem + router downstairs like I said in 1 of the options,
then your Dreambox can be connected directly to your router via a short ethernet cable. (no stutter)
Then you can use Westkills method to give you the internet upstairs without the long cable, but I would not know how easy that is to setup, (would be interesting though)
Or you could just install a wireless network card in your upstairs pc, to connect to the router that way.

It all depends on whether you can live with slightly less speed on the upstairs pc, & if the speed of your broadband is 10mb or below then you won't even know the diference..

Me too, That is why I got the cable...

I did find that link I was on about in a previous post, it can make the Dreambox wireless & can then connect direct to the router,

Another thing somebody has mentioned is that I might need an 'inline amplifier' attaching to my dish? Hope not as thats one thing I CANT do, is get up on the roof and play about with the dish. I aint even got a ladder!
