Dreambox 500s virgin

Hi everyone new to the forum, my first post, if I am repeating others Sorry.
Question I have a 500s setup at home mainly to watch sport, I pay a monthly rental for this, could I replace the current box with one of my own and carry on watching, or is there more to it than that?

just aquired a dreambox 500s i am new to this technology so i i will hang on tight and enjoy the ride it will be a challenge but fun i hope i stick with it

it will run without a viewing card... but to be able to do so you need to do a bit of research... google cccam and c/s

It might be a bumpy ride , do plenty of reading, if you get stuck ask and im sure someone will help.

It can be fun and at times pull your hair out and even sleepless nights but its fun learning cure.

Ive got a bad head reading all this stuff .......... Im new to the Dreambox world ...a mate of mine has a DM500c an Ive just aquired a DM500s ....as far as I know it doesnt have an image.... Ive not found dreamup yet or a recommended image so will carry on reading unless someone kindly posts up links to where I can find............

download dramup from the download section here and go onto the openpli wensite to download the latest dm500 image.
