card needed for dreambox 500s

hi could anyone tell me if i need a card to use a dreambox 500s , i was thinking of buying one and at the moment im using eurovox 5100 pvr but never went into the satelite side of things i have a dish mounted on the wall from the last owner , any help would be great thanks

I maybe wrong but I expect it is a S*y dish from the previous owner and as you are a Eurovox owner you are expecting to see the S*y channels. You do not need a card with the dreambox unless you are expecting to view the S*y channels if that is what you are expecting then you will need to subscribe to S*y or else you need to google cardsharing.

its getting a joke now isn't it.. constantly repeating the same advice about 3 times a week.. i wish people would just do a little bit of reading and searching before they ask their question..

I could be totally wrong and the last owner left a 1m motorised dish and all it needs is a dreambox to be installed. What we need is a small addition to Westkill's excellant little sticky about this little point.

Card interface

Hi guys, on the subject of card interface. I have a dm500s and have an official conax digitalb card and am trying to view supersport on 16e. It is paid up subscription so would expect it to clear but screen is blank?? When i go into softcam settings i only have ccam 2.14 and cant find anywhere that i can change to card slot. The dbox is finding the card info so it must be able to read it? I am using pli image. Any suggestions??
